Nanso Satomi Festival



The clan of Satomi, who is Sengoku era’s military commander, predominated Awanokuni(present Tateyama city) about 500 years ago.
“Nanso Satomi Hakkenden”, which is the fiction based on the clan of Satomi, is made by Kyokutei Bakin, who was the writer in Edo era.
Nanso Satomi Maturi reappears the clan of Satomi and Kyokutei Bakin’s "Nanso Satomi Hakkenden".
This first Festival was held in 1972/10/31. And this year Nanso Satomi Maturi reaches 36 times.
You can also meet the group of people dressed in Japanese armor.
And more to enjoy, on the day of festival you can taste many local production for local consumption of Tateyama.In the evening you can see fireworks!

From JR Tateyama station, 2 minutes walk.
From Futtu Tateyama Highway Tomiura IC, it takes 15minutes by car. Please park at the extra parking.
